Who We Are

How it all began…

The Creede Musical Arts Collective Inc. is a 501c3 nonprofit organization (established March 1, 2022) located in Creede, CO. Spanning the infinite genres of Musical Arts, our mission is to contribute to & diversify the musical experiences available in the region by inviting prominent Musical Artists to share their talents in residency within the community through live performances and educational experiences.

Founded by long-time Colorado residents, operatic baritone & country singer Michael Mayes (long-time, part-time Creedite) & his operatic mezzo-soprano, pianist & harmony singing wife Megan Marino (CU Boulder graduate). It was a long mused upon dream finally coming to fruition. They are not shy about their love for the Arts community and all its participants in Colorado and the surrounding region, or their desire to roll up their sleeves, contribute from as many angles as possible and fight for access to the Arts for all, as well as fair treatment of Artists and their industry colleagues at-large. To that end, we’ve got an incredible Board stacked with folks who share those values and bring years of expertise from many arenas. They are integral in making CMAC the beautiful, dream-turned reality it is today.
